FROM THE ORIGINAL PAPER

Report summary

A full-risk, long portfolio based on earnings conversion and valuation normalization, with position weights, valuation scenarios and the conditions that could undermine the thesis.

What the investment earns

The test is whether capital spending produces usable capacity, lasting demand and free cash flow per share. The case pairs earnings growth with valuation normalization. A low valuation on its own is not enough.

The portfolio at the source date

The paper sets out a personal portfolio with 13 economic positions and a case for each company. Printed weights total 100.01% because of rounding. The passive fund sleeve is not identified precisely enough to reconstruct the full portfolio return.

Valuation cases and holdings

The growth and valuation cases are scenarios rather than realized returns. Costs and source-date prices are approximate. The holdings disclosures and prices do not provide a complete trading record or portfolio NAV history.

RISKS

Risks & conditions

Read any potential return alongside the paper's risks, conditions and limitations.

AI capex can fail to earn adequate returns if depreciation and spending remain high while cloud growth and margins weaken. Large investments or acquisitions must improve per-share cash economics. Source: p. 19.

High-multiple holdings are exposed if growth slows before earnings catch up. Higher real yields, wider credit spreads and negative earnings revisions can pressure the portfolio together. Source: p. 19.

The autonomous-vehicle marketplace thesis fails if networks bypass aggregators or require Uber to own the fleet. Source: p. 19.

The growth and valuation scenarios omit important sources of realized return variation. Portfolio costs and marks are approximate and may not be executable; the author discloses personal ownership. Source: p. 5, p. 20, p. 22.

UnchangedEDITORIAL REVIEW ·

The earnings-conversion test remains the portfolio’s constraint.

October adds a more positive agentic-demand view, but still asks whether incremental AI gross profit exceeds depreciation and financing cost, and whether infrastructure ROIC exceeds WACC. This keeps September’s capital-to-cash-flow framework relevant without proving free-cash-flow-per-share conversion or removing its concentrated AI-capex risk. The ownership table supplies no new weights, orders or dated entry. This is an unchanged conditional framework, not confirmation of the portfolio’s results.

Newer cloud and agentic-demand context preserves the cash-return constraint. The source gives October 2026 without an exact day.

Portfolio application·Equities

Applying the conversion framework to a portfolio

August tests whether scarce infrastructure becomes profitable utilized capacity. September applies the capital-to-demand-to-revenue-to-cash-flow chain to a concentrated equity portfolio and states the shared AI-capex risks. A thematic connection does not imply a new purchase or allocation change.

Cross-asset transmission·Commodities

Long yields connect macro conditions to the book

September’s portfolio risk map links higher real yields, wider credit spreads and weaker revisions. The later oil report explains why energy disinflation may ease policy expectations while fiscal borrowing, AI financing and term premiums keep longer yields elevated. Its equity case remains conditional on resilient growth and earnings.

Framework continuity·Equities

Stronger demand; the cash-return test remains

September’s portfolio depends on investment converting into free cash flow per share. October adds a more positive agentic-demand view while retaining the distinction between useful demand and investment returns. It supplies no new allocation or dated trade for the September book.
